⤱ Anatase ⤱

Anatase is one of three naturally occurring forms of titanium oxide - TiO2, the others being rutile and brookite. It often occurs as bipyramidal crystals that may be blue, black, or other colours.

This is a photo of a single anatase crystal with muscovite mica in a miarolitic cavity, image width about 4mm.
